The book I’ll be reviewing today is An Atlas of Natural Beauty by Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami.
Eloquently written, detailed and inspiring An Atlas of Natural Beauty begins with the authors’ explanation of a natural beauty routine including methods, protocol, tools and mentality. This book features 80 natural substances (mainly plant but also insect, rock and mineral), some history on each ingredient, cultural lore, beauty benefits, harvesting, preparation and recipes. Some of the featured ingredients may be expected (Witch Hazel, Lavender, Aloe Vera) while others may be an interesting surprise (Daisy, Iris, Corn Poppy).
What I Think
I love this book! It is informative, interesting and versatile. You could reference it simply to educate yourself on the beauty properties of various natural ingredients or you could use it as a guide in creating home beauty preparations.
Do I Recommend It
Absolutely! This makes a great reference book, a good book for DIY beauty fans of all levels of experience or even just a cool coffee table book.
