Rich in caffeine and antioxidants, coffee beans will stimulate and enliven more than your mood. When applied topically, caffeine stimulates blood circulation which is why it is often seen in products intended to treat the appearance of cellulite as well as products for under eye circles and puffiness. The increased blood flow gives the skin a smoother, tighter appearance.
Coffee is an awesome source of antioxidants. The antioxidants in coffee (chlorogenic acid, hydrocinnamic acid and Niacin; Vit. B3) make coffee effective in addressing hyperpigmentation, acne and inflammation. The antioxidants in coffee also prevent the breakdown of collagen by attacking collagenase (enzymes that destroy collagen peptide bonds).

100 Percent Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream from 100percentpure.com. I’m including this product because I personally have had great results with it. Unlike many green beauty bloggers, I am not a fan of 100% Pure. Some of their highly rated products, such as this one, are really great. Others are, in my opinion, falsely given good ratings (the mascara flakes and straightens eyelashes-probably the cleanest and worst mascara). I’m including the link regardless.
An easy DIY coffee face scrub can be made by combining 2 Tbsp. ground coffee, 1 Tbsp. coarse organic sugar and 1 Tbsp. organic coconut oil. Mix everything together and use as you would a typical face scrub. Use within a few weeks and store in an airtight glass container.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post and now have some new ideas for using coffee as a skincare product. Thanks for reading!
